Alex Essienumoh, DPT, CFCE, CEAS / Clinic Director

Dr. Alex is a graduate of The University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2000. He received his professional training from Medical College of Georgia where he earned his Master of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees in 2006 and 2009, respectively.  Dr. Alex has nearly 17 years of clinical experience in orthopedic, neurological and cardiovascular rehabilitation in various settings including Acute, Subacute, Skilled Nursing, Sports Medicine, and Outpatient settings.  He is a Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator (CFCE) and a Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS). Dr. Alex has additional training in manual therapy and is a dry needling certified specialist. He is a life-time Dekalb/Clayton County resident where he resides with his wife and five children.

Primary Speech-Language PathologistBenita Madison Thorpe, M.Ed., CCC-SLP / Primary Speech-Language Pathologist

Benita Madison Thorpe brings over 17 years of clinical expertise in Speech-Language Pathology to her role as the primary Speech-Language Pathologist at Entelechy Rehab, LLC. She holds a Master of Education in Speech-Language Pathology and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Valdosta State University. Since 2006, she has maintained the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and licensure in the state of Georgia.

Her extensive experience spans various settings, including acute care, long-term care, home health, long-term acute care, educational institutions, and private practice. In addition, she is the sole proprietor of The Speech Library, a provider of educational consulting and independent contracting for Speech-Language Pathology services.

Benita specializes in working with both adult and pediatric populations, with a particular focus on aphasia, neurocognitive rehabilitation related to mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), voice disorders, and dysphagia. As a certified LSVT LOUD therapist and an accomplished educational speaker, her mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals of all ages through improved communication.

She is dedicated to empowering and educating families and patients, fostering their journey towards independence. In her spare time, she conducts educational seminars highlighting the benefits of speech-language therapy for diverse demographic groups, including support groups associated with the American Parkinson’s Association in the Atlanta area.

Furthermore, she is the founder of the Holiday Homeschool Facebook group, aimed at encouraging families to create enriching educational experiences beyond the traditional school day.

Insurance/Payment/Billing

We currently accept Worker’s Compensation, Medicaid, and most major insurance plans. Please be sure to contact your insurance company or you may call our office to find out if we accept your insurance plan.

If your insurance plan requires you to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you are expected to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, and American Express.  If you have a question regarding your bill or insurance, please contact our billing specialist at (404) 366-8100.

INSURANCE & BILLING

REFERRALS

You must bring a referral from your physician or medical provider (primary care doctor, nurse practitioner, orthopedic surgeon, podiatrist, physiatrist, chiropractor, etc.) in order for insurance to pay for your physical therapy treatment.

We will accept an initial referral by fax or by email from your provider, and we will obtain the needed signed prescription within days of your referral, or you may simply bring your referral with you to our office.
